CCB are delighted to announce that they have received funding from the Scottish
Power Energy People Trust to carry out a project giving advice to low income
families on ways in which they can reduce their home energy costs. Helen Dean,
Project Co-ordinator said “It’s great that we have funding for a year to be
able to run drop in sessions at Children’s Centres across Berkshire. I started
the project in September, and I have already advised many parents on how to go
about comparing costs and switching supplier. Low income families are often
unaware that they
qualify for a discount off their electricity bill, and so they are often
able to save over £250 a year off their home energy costs if they switch
supplier and claim the Warm Home Discount”.
